Artwork: Make Something

The Strathmore paper company sponsored an online class in card making that began in September. When I finally caught up on all of the online videos, I was captured by the easy lettering methods of Joanne Sharpe, one of the two instructors for this fall's class.

Joanne showed a method that she calls the whimsy grid where she places sweeping lines on a page and then fills in the spaces with with handwriting. I used Joanne's method to draw and paint this image for my art journal.

Here's a LINK to the Strathmore Paper Company's online classes. Supplies are available in the Pigeon area at the Ben Franklin Store on Main Street where my nieces will be happy to help you find what you need.

  1. How cool! Oh, if I only had more time I would try one of these classes. I'm signed up for a MOOC on Improvisation starting next week, so I think that's enough. Go Tigers!

  2. That's great, Heidi. Glad to hear that you are doing an Improv class. I liked the Strathmore short presentations. I could at least watch a short video and then go do something creative.

Now I'm eyeing my ukelele! And the piano.

Onward and upward, and yes, Go Tigers!
