Max's Quilt

Max's teddy bear quilt.
Presented to him for his first Christmas in 2004.

Pattern from a past issue of Quiltmaker magazine. Hand appliqued, machine pieced and machine quilted by his grandmother, Wanda Hayes Eichler.

  1. Love this pattern, mom made one for a family friend with the same pattern and colors. It just looks like it needs to be cuddled with!

  2. It is a great design, Kelsey! So, your Mom did one, too! That's not surprising for me. You may not know this, but your Mom and I started knitting the same baby sweater in the same colors way back when. It was a fairly complicated quilt-looking knitting design. I started the sweater for Liesl and never finished it. If my memory is serving me correctly, she started one for you and never got it done.

I'm continually amazed at how much your Mom and I are alike. Sometimes I hear Carla voice cadences in my own speaking! Maybe it's the Hayes cadence or the Wisconsin upbringing cadence or whatever.

Anyway, thanks for commenting on the Max quilt. I'm glad you visited my blog!
