Memorial Day 2011
I've never marched in a band,
nor fought in a war.
The only uniform I ever wore
was when I was a Brownie Scout.
But today I pause for a moment to say a word
to those who put on the uniform.
To all those who marched and fought.
You who cared and bled.
You who died.
A citizen says thank you.
