Several years ago we ran across this scene in Port Huron along the St. Clair River. Here's a bona fide Volkswagen mini van and its occupant, comfortably seated in his recliner, and watching ships pass under the Bluewater Bridges.

I still think Mary Beth should have one of those and paint Thangles on it. It could be the Thanglemobile !! Jenny & Lindsie were always going to write a song to go with it.
ReplyDeleteTell them to have a phone conference and write it! With their mad lyric skills, it would be hilarious! Now they can add a verse about Patrick's recliner :)
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome photo....is that my husband?? He is a real bug van lover. Hummmm we just got rid of Stan's old recliner.

A-maz-in’Than-gles,
How sweet the notion
that saved quilters like ME!
My blocks were lost,
my seams adrift,
Such a mess, but now I see. . .
That Thangles are
the answer to
a quilter’s Die-lem-ma!
So straight and true
I’ll always sew.
Thangles – they work for me.
Right sides together,
Pin the paper on top.
Stitch on the dotted way!
Trim on the solid,
Now press, next tear.
Your triangles won’t go astray.
So conquer every
half square triangle.
It’s victory, you see!
Thangles, the best.
Quilting’s a snap
With Thangles, Yes-sir-ree.
Okay, I tried. Anybody else want to be a poet?
Oh, wow. I can't believe this went by a month without me noticing. My lyrical skills are rusty, but I seriously want to purchase that van. VW vans are the only ones I'll consider driving and the paint job is already done to my specifications...
ReplyDeleteOK Lindsie-the challenge is on....and now we have to contend with Wanda's really good lyric skills (I just watched part of 8 mile-This is like a rap-off issued by M&M!)
